Our process

Every Ghini scarf is made entirely in Como, home to Italy’s finest silk artisans for over five hundred years.

Made (slowly) on Lake Como

From weaving to finishing, each silk scarf is a zero-mile creation, made in collaboration with historic mills and family workshops.

Made entirely by local artisans, Ghini scarves are imbued with the care and precision that have been the hallmark of Como’s silk makers for generations.

Our process may take a little longer than fast fashion alternatives, but we think it’s worth the wait.

Shipping & craftsmanship

Each scarf is made to order in Como, Italy. We don’t hold warehouse stock or produce unnecessary waste. Instead, your scarf is carefully crafted by expert hands and then shipped directly to you.

Why it takes a little time

We’re committed to zero waste and exceptional quality. That means we only produce in small quantities, or to order.

After you place an order, your scarf will need to be created, finished and prepared for shipping.

On average, orders take 10-20 working days to dispatch, depending on the volume of orders at that time.

We’ll keep you informed with daily emails, and you’ll receive regular tracking info as soon as your parcel is en route, meaning no anxious waits for courier drivers.

Made in Como, with care

We don’t produce in bulk. We don’t keep rotting warehouse stock.

Every scarf is crafted to order in collaboration with historic silk mills and artisans across the Province of Como.

This means your piece isn’t sitting on a shelf. It’s being woven, cut, finished, and packaged by real people who take pride in their craft.

The process may take a little longer, but you’ll receive something unique, not mass-produced.

You’ll know when it’s on its way

Once your scarf has passed through the hands of our quality control team, it’s carefully packaged and sent straight to your door.

Shipping times vary depending on your location, but you’ll receive an email the moment your order ships.

Crafted to last decades, not months

Our emphasis on quality over quantity results in scarves woven entirely from luxurious 14 momme silk twill, crafted with time and skill.

This careful process not only enhances their beauty, but also ensures they are more durable, longer-lasting, and of a higher quality than mass-produced alternatives.

Reducing our environmental impact

By avoiding mass production, we minimise waste and reduce our environmental footprint.

This slower approach to delivery means every order helps prevent unnecessary excess - a small but crucial step towards more responsible fashion.

The value of slowing down

Sustainable sourcing

We have partnered with ethical local suppliers who use sustainable production methods and ensure fair wages for workers.

No micro-plastics

Unlike polyester or acrylic scarves, Ghini silk scarves are free from micro-plastics and won’t shed harmful particles.

Premium Mulberry silk

Our scarves are crafted from 100% Mulberry silk - the world's finest grade - renowned for its smooth texture, natural sheen, and luxurious feel against your skin.

Long-lasting quality

Ghini silk offers exceptional durability. With proper care, these scarves become timeless wardrobe pieces that can last for years.

100% natural product

Our scarves offer a natural alternative to synthetic fibres. When disposed of in soil, mulberry silk biodegrades within 1 to 5 years, rather than the 200+ of cheap, synthetic alternatives.

Meticulous quality control

Every Ghini scarf undergoes rigorous quality control checks to ensure that every detail is flawless before it reaches your hands.

Scarves made slowly in a fast world

In Como's tranquil villages, tradition is still alive. Every Ghini scarf is created within a few quiet miles by master artisans.

It’s more than just silk. Ghini scarves celebrate Como’s rich history and a slower way of creating - where the elegance of the lake and the quiet dedication of its artisans are woven into every piece.

To own one is to carry a fragment of this landscape, its heritage and timeless beauty.
